Xalpoti, Salpoti,Shalpoti - |

|
In Assamese language, a Xalpoti, shalpoti, salpoti – whichever way you call it, is a term used to name a relation between men who are married to girls who are sisters by some relations. |
|||||
|
The relations
between the girls married to xalpotis could be sisters by their blood
relation or may enjoy the very sisterhood by associating themselves from
a common origin, culture or anything that is common enough to relate
them as sisters….. In order to promote this very concept of dudeness by being Xalpoti, we already made a great group of friends whom we refer to as Xalpoti. The relation, which will be referred to as Xalpoti from now on, can also be interpreted as being great “dudes” There is no other way, xalpoti, should be interpreted. If you are willing to be a Xalpoti and share the theme, do not hesitate to sign-up for this free membership. There is no code of ethics or restrictions for now to become a member of Xalpoti but it may change. |

According to one of the premier members of
Xalpoti Club (Dr. Hiranya K. Nath. an economist by profession) :
"Xalpoti
(originally for brother-in-laws by virtue of marrying two sisters),
as has been used in North America for quite some time now, is
synonymous to 'the dude' or 'your dudeness' or 'el duderino'.
Xalpotis occasionally get together to waste away their
'not-so-valuable' resources including time,- leisurley sipping beer
or discussing things which in no way will improve human life on this
earth. Associations (in all diverse forms) among Xalpoti-s produce
what traditional economists would interpret as 'leisure' or 'leisure
activities' which enters individual utility function with a positive
sign (that is, the first-order derivative of the utility function
with respect to Xalpotization is positive); and modern economists
may interpret as 'social capital' which may then enter some
production function which I will leave it to the future generation
of economists/Xalpoti-s to figure out. Hey prospective future
Xalpoti-s, you are free to 'choose' the assamptions about how this
kind of social capital affects production."
